An Easy Way to Understand Your Astrological Year Ahead
Sextiles, squares, and trines. Ingresses and eclipses. Retrogrades and shadow periods! There’s a lot to consider when looking at the year ahead, but what if I told you there’s a way to cut through the noise and zero in on what’s actually meaningful for you and your natal chart?
It’s the degrees!
Scan this list of important dates in 2026: are any of these planets at degrees that appear in your own chart? If so, then that planet in your chart is metaphorically speaking with the planets this year. Researching that alignment more in-depth is a great way to proceed with examining your natal chart in context of the new year.
Don’t care for learning an advanced technique like this? Or do you still love a sun sign horoscope? Then skip the degree investigation, read about what’s to come in 2026—like the Venus retrograde, eclipses, and more—and enjoy the horoscopes at the bottom of this email.
But if you’re on board, here’s a list of important dates and degrees organized by degree (rather than chronologically) to make it easier for you to scan your own chart. Compare this list with your natal chart and, if you’re an advanced student, your progressions too. Consider the aspect, or angle, your planet is making with the planet(s) at the degree in question. I’ve included a quick list of the angles and my interpretations of them here for you to work with, and I’ve also included an example below the lists of how you might do this.
Naturally, you might wonder what orb to use. Don’t overthink it: start by examining the alignments that are exact by degree and then expand from there.

EXAMPLE: HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE
Let’s say you have Venus at 4° Gemini in your natal chart. Looking at the list above, you’d notice several transits at 4°:
Lunar Eclipse at 4° Pisces (August 28) — Your Venus would square this eclipse, suggesting dynamic change or catalyzing action in relationships, values, or creative work
Jupiter at 4° Leo (July 20-21) — Your Venus would sextile Jupiter, opening communication and expanding opportunities in love, money, or artistic pursuits
Uranus at 4° Gemini (July-September) — Your Venus would conjunct Uranus, initiating a completely new beginning in how you approach relationships or what you value
Neptune at 4° Aries (July 7) — Your Venus would sextile Neptune, bringing creative inspiration and spiritual connection to your relationships
With four major transits activating the same degree as your natal Venus, 2026 would be a significant year for your Venusian themes—love, money, beauty, values, creativity.
