Welcome Randon Rosenbohm!
Starting this week, my one-time apprentice, long-time colleague, and collaborator, Randon Rosenbohm, will cowrite this newsletter with me. I’m so grateful to all of you for subscribing, which allows me to have a budget to hire amazing people to work with!
Randon began studying astrology with me in 2016. I wrote my first book, The Astrology of Love & Sex, primarily by dictating the ideas to Randon, who would type them up and give me valuable feedback. Randon also worked with me at VICE, writing our weekly horoscopes and together we coauthored many articles.
I love working with Randon because, aside from being a hilarious and stylish Libra, she has such a massive knowledge of art and history (thus, the context of our culture), religion, philosophy, and, of course, astrology. Randon understands my voice, and we are simpatico in our assessments of the planets. You will love her writing and ideas as much as I do.
WELCOME RANDON!
Week of October 21
Venus in Sagittarius trines the North Node in Aries at 11:43 PM on October 21 — Destiny calls!
Attracting what we want could come quickly. We may experience serendipitous connections, or something we've been pining for might fall into our lap. Things might seem effortless or lucky. Relationships have a fated feel to them, and we might find ourselves at the right place and time for something extraordinary.
This is a wonderful alignment for practicing gratitude. We might also gain insight into our lives and have an easier time "trusting" the "process," whatever that may be. For example, if you've been renovating your home and feeling lost, wondering if your vision will ever become reality, you might feel like it's all coming together now.
We might gain a new perspective on our desires, the past, and the present. Relationships that have taken a long time to develop are finally coming into focus.
The mood is fun, flirty, and a bit competitive. People can feel entitled to reach beyond their own limits and, in doing so, level up and reach a new level. We're encouraging other people and ourselves to reach new upgrades.
Mercury in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces at 2:34 AM on October 22 — Solid discussions.
This could be a solid time for negotiations, drawing up commitments, and wrapping up paperwork. Small details may be agreed upon, standing the test of time. This aspect may see a long-standing or deeply-rooted, multi-faceted problem being solved, which can be a relief. We might be moving forward with resolutions after having run into some roadblocks or delays.
Mercury in Scorpio is like a detective, and Saturn in Pisces is like a wise elder: we might connect with someone who has been around the block in our search for the truth. Someone with expertise can offer an uplifting service or priceless word of advice. We’re able to see beyond limits or accept any shortcomings. Instead of trying to force something that doesn’t work, accept its flaws and develop a more sustainable solution.
The sun in Libra squares off with Pluto in Capricorn at 10:15 AM on October 22 — Power plays and intrigue!
The sun symbolizes the self, and Pluto represents the world stage: we might find ourselves making a decision about who we will be during this pivotal era! Makeovers and aesthetic overhauls, a change of what’s in fashion and what’s not, are all happening. This aspect has implications for politics, too. A reveal of what’s been swept under the rug can have us changing our minds collectively. The secrets of leaders, influencers, or highly visible people might peak out from the shadows!
A clash of egos could take place. Everyone wants to win, and people clinging to power might be tested. When Pluto aspects are involved, it’s best to try to move with the tides instead of getting stuck in the undertow. Letting go of control is hard, but it could also be a power move that protects your own reputation and shine or proves that you are relatable and human.
This is a powerful time for transformations. The winners will be the folks who are willing to embrace transformation and who don’t cling to the past. This is true both in the public sphere and in people’s personal lives.
The sun enters Scorpio at 6:15 PM on October 22 — Spooky season is officially here!
The sun is in Scorpio, and the witches say this is when the veil is at its thinnest. Our psychic abilities could intensify, and our interest in spiritual concerns could increase. In the northern hemisphere, night is now longer than day. Activities are moving indoors, giving us more time for intimate conversations, sharing secrets, and connecting with others on an emotional level.
The emotional connection we share with people could be strengthened; this is a period of intimacy. As we shift into night mode, we are more interested in matters of the inner world: psychology, spirituality, and emotionality. This autumnal turning inward gives us the space to do some soul-searching and see what we need to heal or protect.
Mars in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus at 8:12 PM on October 24 — Sparks of brilliance!
This is an exciting time to try something new. People might feel more comfortable experimenting with different approaches at this time. But it's also essential to take a measured approach to things instead of going all-out and then getting burned out.
There is a drive for freedom and revolution that can be harnessed. Unorthodox or unconventional activities might be discussed. If you have a weird idea that you want to pitch, it might be more readily accepted.
We might experience a eureka moment. Uranus is the planet of invention and scientific discovery. An accident might yield an unintentional result, leading to a new and exciting development!
Unexpected help could arrive from someone brawny and brainy. You might encounter a hero as you move through what are, for you, uncharted territories.
