THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE: Pluto looms large! Power and intrigue! The astrology supports us in moving on to bigger and better things.
The consensus is that weekly horoscopes make more sense for the Substack format than monthly. So, moving forward you’ll be getting weekly insights instead of a monthly mailing. Venus in Taurus squares off with Pluto in Aquarius at 12:30 AM on May 1 – Scary but also sexy?! You tell me!
You might feel like you are in a soap opera. Interactions could feel weirdly scripted! And not in the productive, “I’ll practice what I’ll say in the mirror” sort of way. More like “did this person rip this line from a book on manipulation?" Not cool! But, strangely, this could also be a passionate time in your love life. Who knows! Here are my guesses for this transit:
You have to cut off someone who is controlling, jealous, manipulative, or shady.
You and a partner uncover amazing physical chemistry.
Venus in Taurus rules beautiful (Venus) stuff (earth sign Taurus). Pluto in Aquarius is a tough (Pluto) crowd (Aquarius). Their square could show the real value of something.
You opt out of all drama. Venus in Taurus finds you rotting on the couch. Pluto in Aquarius finds you embracing the aloof lifestyle. You’re drinking your IDGAF juice in peace. Your nonchalance infuriates or amazes the masses.
Here’s the thing about squares: they create tension. But, while tension can mean disharmony, it could also spell chemistry. It could mean a productive move forward. This could be a good time to reflect on your relationships. Are your partnerships good Pluto: transformative, meaningful, and find you feeling encouraged to step out of your comfort zone in a productive way. Or, are they bad Pluto: possessive, makes you walk on eggshells, inconsiderate of your time, space, and energy?
Pluto has it’s paw prints all over this week! Bring in an unbiased third party to help mediate things if you’re having a tough time with someone.
Pluto retrograde begins in Aquarius at 1:46 PM on May 2 – Reflecting on Power
Pluto begins its retrograde at 2° Aquarius, and it will head all the way back to 29°Capricorn until it finally ends its retrograde on October 12, 2024. Outer planet retrogrades give us a chance to review big picture moves in our lives. Think back to the end of December 2023, as adjustments and reflections concerning these themes could take place during this period.
Pluto is the bulldozer (I think I got this term from Anne Ortelee), it rolls in and tears down whatever’s in its path. In Aquarius, I think Pluto will be tearing down communities or movements that have come to power in dishonest ways. Or, simply in slapdash ways. Communities without a strong foundation could get really shaken up. A leader could have genuinely good intentions but if they’ve found themselves in a position of power without really learning how to wield it, big changes may have to take place. During this retrograde period, I wonder if we’ll see big shake ups in communities and their spokespeople and leaders.
Many of us dream of overnight success, but very often this sort of luck doesn’t leave us with the tools we need to stay on top. Reflect on what you need for long term success during Pluto retrograde.
Mars in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius at 5:06 AM on May 3 – It’s like that satisfying feeling you get when you slam a phone on the receiver. Sorry for the dated reference, hehe!
It’s a Pluto heavy week and Mars is all for it. Pluto is the planet of destruction, and Mars, metaphorically, loves nothing more than to smash things. Mars is the planet of swords, scissors, anything that cuts and severs, and Pluto, too, loves ripping things to shreds. This makes this alignment a fabulous time to say goodbye to something you no longer need in your life!
Things could happen very quickly now. Aries is a speed demon. And while Mars in Aries can be impatient, Pluto in Aquarius supports Mars in Aries by lending some foresight and staying power. Tremendous strides could be made toward goals. Forward on the climb!
