Week of December 30 — Happy New Year!
The new moon in Capricorn takes place at 5:26 PM on December 30
The second new moon of the month is called a black moon. This is especially apt for a Capricorn new moon, as Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, a planet associated with dark colors. Shroud yourself in black velvet as you dance under the stars and call in your wishes for the new year!
New moons are all about new beginnings. In Capricorn, fresh starts could center on business, productivity, and building wealth and security for the future. Indeed, the new year is a period of resolutions, typically regarding health and money, and the new moon in Capricorn adds extra oomph to our intentions.
Maturity and responsibility are themes highlighted now. The wishes we hope to manifest probably won’t come true overnight — so patience is required! This new moon asks how you’ll stay grounded while you wait for your visions to become reality.
New commitments in love and business could be explored now. Boundaries, expectations, and limits might not be completely clear yet, but this is a great new moon to discuss how things could be arranged. The mood might not be super romantic, mushy, flashy, or extravagant, but focus, devotion, and support could flow.

Think back to November 19 and December 2 of this year; similar themes could be revisited now. A situation could be resolved or clarified now. A healing energy could flow within communications. Open hearts and forgiveness could inspire peace and joy.
Mars retrograde in Leo trines the North Node in Aries at 6:45 PM on January 2
Again, an open heart could result in some fated feeling interaction. We might find that we’re in the right place at the right time for something magical to happen, even if we’re not feeling as energetic or confident as usual. Mars in Leo can be flashy, a show-off. But Mars is retrograde — much more demure! The introspection that takes place now could have a lasting impact.
Venus enters Pisces at 10:24 PM on January 2
While the new moon in Capricorn isn’t incredibly mushy and romantic, Venus in Pisces is, so if you’re craving affection, it could be coming! Capricorn vibes are neat and tidy, but Venus in Pisces gives big, wet kisses! This could be a welcome change, too, after Venus’s time in cool air sign Aquarius — a very friendly, chatty transit, but not as intimate as Venus in Pisces. After feeling each other out while Venus was in Aquarius, things could get much more emotionally intense as Venus enters Pisces! We could learn someone’s genuine emotions. Creativity abounds, and our fantasies could be explored with our lovers or perhaps through our artistic pursuits. Creative blocks could be busted!
Mars retrograde in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius at 2:21 AM on January 3
Very intense emotions could surface. Impatience, control issues, jealousy, and egos could bring drama to a head. We might cut ties with someone manipulative. Relationships on shaky ground could benefit from having a third party mediate things. Partnerships built on solid ground could weather this storm; indeed, a passionate encounter could even occur! Whatever’s been repressed or ignored could surface, whether negative feelings or passionate desires. Finding balance and ways to stay grounded and centered are key now! Mars is retrograde, calling us to engage in healthier ways to express our anger and passion.

This alignment could bode well for planning commitments, setting limits, and explaining expectations. Communication could run smoothly, and elders, leaders, bosses, and people in charge could offer helpful support.
Pluto in Aquarius sextile North Node in Aries at 10:34 PM on January 5
A fated-feeling shift could take place in the zeitgeist. It could be a “vibe shift,” as they say, one that feels timely, necessary, and inspiring. Again, communication could flow easily, and maybe research will be released, helping us make sense of things.
