Week of December 23
The sun in Capricorn squares the North Node in Aries at 2:27 AM on December 23
Decisions made now might feel fated. We could discuss relocations, changing our jobs or homes. The sun in Capricorn is focused on building for the future and can be very deliberate and slow-moving about accomplishing things—the North Node in Aries might inspire us to trust our gut and make a move!
Venus in Aquarius sextiles Chiron in Aries at 7:45 PM on December 23
This is a fabulous alignment for friendship and communication. The mood is supportive, communicative, and understanding. Disagreements could be resolved, and profound emotional bonds could form!
Jupiter in Gemini squares Saturn in Pisces at 4:59 PM on December 24
This alignment has a bad reputation, but what can I say? I’ve seen it play out positively so many times for people that I have a bit of a different take.
If you’ve taken an astrology class with me before (get in touch if you would like to study with me), you know that I usually delineate alignments like this: The faster-moving planet (in this case, Jupiter) has to bend to the will of the slower moving planet (in this case, Saturn). So, jolly, happy-go-lucky Jupiter must buckle down and get to work at serious Saturn’s behest.
But I don’t think this alignment is all about toiling away and having no fun. Some intriguing expansions could take place now — people might be promoted, and happy commitments could be made.
There’s a big focus on moderation and responsibility. Things might move slowly. We might need to deal with elders or bosses, or could have a lot of delegating or organizing to do. But hard work could also pay off now, and the satisfaction that comes with that can be very sweet.
Mercury in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter in Gemini at 5:47 PM on December 26
Think back to December 4 and November 18: similar topics could come up for discussion! Mercury is no longer retrograde; we might better understand how other people view things. It can be easier to let go of old ideas, especially if we realize that we have been looking at things through a narrow lens. A conversation could come to a close after much flip-flopping, and the mood might be generally busy, open-minded, chatty, and forward-facing.
Mercury in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces at 2:28 PM on December 27
Communications could slow down! Saturn is the planet of time, and while Mercury wants to talk a mile a minute, this alignment asks us to pace ourselves. Decisions could be given serious consideration, commitments discussed, and patience tested. This aspect last occurred on December 6 and November 12, so conversations and exchanges from that period might be rehashed.
Venus in Aquarius squares off with Uranus in Taurus at 2:41 AM on December 28
This could be a rocky period but could also break us out of a rut! Relationships built on mistrust, inflexibility, or insecurity could be strongly tested now. Strong relationships could get a jolt of excitement, experimentation, and novel thrills!
Looking for love? You may be surprised by who catches your interest. It might be the type of person you never thought you'd fall for. Making art? Creative breakthroughs could take place. Generally, the same old ways of doing things could feel very boring now, and we might feel called to break free from whatever's holding us back from trying new things.
Chiron retrograde in Aries ends at 4:13 PM on December 29
The self-awareness required on our healing journeys could be highlighted now. We are called to recognize our part in our development— or lack of!— during this time.
